Abraham Goodgold, MD
Dr. Abraham Goodgold is a physician who practices general internal medicine and endocrinology, primarily out of our Elizabeth office. He also visits patients in area nursing homes.
After graduating from Columbia University in 1969, Dr. Goodgold graduated from New York University’s School of Medicine, did his internship and residency in internal medicine at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx and completed a fellowship in endocrinology and metabolism at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York.
Dr. Goodgold is is board eligible in endocrinology and metabolism, and certified by the National Board of Internal Medicine since 1977.
He has been on staff at Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth for many years, and was Chairman of TRMC’s Department of Medicine from 1995-1996. He is also on staff at Robert Wood Johnson/Rahway.
Amanda Curtis is a Physician Assistant.
She is a graduate of the Seton Hall University School of Health and Medical Sciences in South Orange, NJ and holds a bachelor of science degree in nutritional sciences from the Pennsylvania State University, State College, PA.
As part of her training, she did clinical rotations at St. Barnabas Medical Center, Trinitas Regional Medical Center, JFK Medical Center, Jersey City Medical Center, CentraState Medical Center, St. Michael’s Medical Center, St. Joseph’s Medical Center, Newark Beth Israel Center, and elsewhere.
Amanda holds various memberships, licenses and certifications, including licensure in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania; ACLS certification; BLS certification; and certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
Amit Gupta, MD F.A.C.S.
Amit Gupta, MD is a board-certified general and vascular surgeon who is on the staff of Union County Healthcare Associates. He is a dedicated, multi-lingual physician with a stellar academic background and extensive training in the field of General Surgery that includes advanced laparoscopic procedures, trauma and peripheral vascular surgery.
Working from our Garwood office, Dr. Gupta sees patients with general health concerns and others with more specific vascular problems that require his expertise.
Dr. Gupta’s experience includes residency at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.; a fellowship at the same facility; practice in general and vascular surgery at Capital Surgical Associates in Tallahassee, FL and Advance Surgicare of Waldorf, MD; and his present work here at UCHA.
He is a member of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Critical Care Medicine, and is a candidate for membership in the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons.
Catherine Jahn, MS, PA-C
Catherine Jahn is a Physican Assistant who works at our Garwood office and several of the extended care facilities where we provide services.
A graduate of Seton Hall University, Catherine received both her Bachelor’s degree as well as her Master’s degree from SHU.
Her background includes work as a Pharmacy Technician and more than a dozen clinical rotations during her training as a Physician Assistant.
Ms. Jahn is also a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the NJ State Society of Physician Assistants and the Physician Assistant Student Society of Seton Hall University.
David J. Guzik, DO
Dr. Guzik is a physician board-certified in Family Medicine who works at our office in Colonia.
By all accounts, Dr. Guzik has deep roots in New Jersey. From his college days at St. Peter’s College to his medical school training at UMDNJ, and his affiliation with hospitals like Union Hospital and UMDNJ, Dr. Guzik has continued past his training by affiliating with medical practices in Central and South Jersey.
Board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians and the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, Dr. Guzik has also been on staff, or has or had priviliges at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Burlington; Medical Center of Ocean County in Brick; Hampton Behavioral Health Center in Westampton; Shore Rehabilitation Institute in Point Pleasant; and Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation in Brick, NJ.
Earle N. Rothbell, MD
Earle N. Rothbell, MD is an internal medicine physician who graduated from Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA, in 1953. He served a rotating internship at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City, NY in 1954 before moving on to residencies at State University of NY’s Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY, from 1954-1957.
With more than 50 years of experience as an internal medicine physician, Dr. Rothbell is one of those physicians who can truly say he has seen and done it all.
Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the National Board of Medical Examiners, Dr. Rothbell also received the Golden Merit Award from the Medical Society of New Jersey.
Dr. Rothbell is also affiliated with both Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in Rahway, NJ and JFK Medical Center in Edison. At RWJ, he served in such positions as Chairman of the Department of Medicine, Chairman of the Division of Cardiology, and President of the Medical Staff.
Dr. Rothbell has also taught at both Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY and at the Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine in New Brunswick.
For those interested in making an appointment with Dr. Rothbell, he works out of our Colonia office and also sees patients in several nursing homes in the area.
Edward Anthony Somma, M.D. is an internal medicine physician who graduated from the Universidad De Guadalajara School of Medicine and has been associated with Union County Healthcare Associates since 2008. He works out of our office in Colonia.
Dr. Somma is affiliated with Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth, NJ.
Dr. Somma is also the Physician for the Woodbridge Township Board of Education, and has been a speaker for pharmaceutical companies on a variety of topics.
On a personal note, Dr. Somma is also a licensed professional racer who has participated in the National Formula 2000 Series, the National Mazda Spec series, the Ferrari Challenge Series and other auto racing events.
In addition, he is a keyboardist and percussionist who minored in music at Wagner College in Staten Island, NY. He is also fluent in Spanish.
Dr. Somma brings both his creativity and his flair for precision to his work for patients.
Janet Downing, RN, MSN, FNP
Janet Downing is a family nurse practitioner who works out of our newGarwood office. She also visits patients in nursing homes.
A graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, Janet is also a graduate of Trinitas School of Nursing at Union County College where she was on both UCC’s President’s List and the TSON Dean’s List. She is ANCC-Certified in Family Practice and has a DEA license. Along with being a neonatal resuscitation provider, she is certified in CPR, PALS, ACLS and is also a CPR Instructor.
In addition to her work at Union County Healthcare Associates and the rehab, sub-acute and long-term care patients we serve, Janet is also an Adjunct Clinical Nursing Instructor at Fairleigh Dickinson University. She also works at our MD Care Urgent Center in Elizabeth, where she sees walk-in patients who need emergency or urgent care for things like diabetes, hypertension, anxiety and other problems and illnesses.
Neil Michael S. Estrella, MD
Neil Michael S. Estrella, MD is a board certified internal medicine physician and civil surgeon who graduated from the University of the Philippines in 2001 and has been with Union County Healthcare Associates since 2006.
Dr. Estrella is affiliated with Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth, NJ and Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in Rahway, and visits patients in several area nursing homes.
Dr. Estrella was a junior associate with Hospitalist Associates at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ from 2005-06, and he completed his internal medicine residency at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ in 2005.
Dr. Estrella has ECFMG Certification since 2002, and is licensed to practice medicine in both the United States and the Philippines. He is also a member of the Philippine Medical Association, the Phi Kappa Phi International Honor Society and Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society in Social Sciences, as well as a member of the Medical Students for Social Responsibility and a member of the UP Manila Biology Majors Association.
Dr. Estrella is fluent in both English and Tagalog.
Rosario Davidson, MS, PA-C
Rosario Davidson is a Physician Assistant who holds a Master’s in Science in Physician’s Assistant Studies from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences, and a BS in Chemistry from Kean University in Union, NJ.
She is a member of the AAPA, the NJSSPA, the FCPA and PALH, all state and national organizations pertaining to the credentialing and advancement of Physician Assistants.
Rosario is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, ACLS and BLS Certified by the American Heart Association, and holds medical licensure with both the DEA and NPI.
She is fluent in Spanish, and works primarily in our Elizabeth office. She also visits patients in various nursing homes and assisted living facilities in the Elizabeth area.
Sabeen Khan, MD
Sabeen Khan, MD is an internal medicine physician who graduated in 2001 from Nishtar Medical College in Multan, Pakistan.
Dr. Khan completed family medicine residency training at South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside, NY; family medicine residency training at New York Medical College in Jamaica, NY; and a general surgery residency at Robert Packer Hospital’s Guthrie Clinic in Sayre, PA.
Dr. Khan is licensed to practice medicine in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She is certified in ACLS, BLS and PALS, holds ECFMG Certification since 2005, and is Board Eligible for Family Medicine (appearing December, 2010).
Dr. Khan has worked at Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park, MD; Alpha-K Family Medicine in Queens, NY; New York International Medical Clinic in New York, NY; Corning Hospital in Corning, NY; and several hospitals and medical facilities in Pakistan. She is on staff at both Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth and RWJ Hospital in Rahway.
She is fluent in English, Urdu and Hindi.
Dr. Khan works out of our Elizabeth office, and she sees patients in nursing homes in the Elizabeth area.
Tara Prisco, MS, PA-C
Tara Prisco is a Physician Assistant who holds a Master’s degree in Science from Seton Hall University’s Physician Assistant Program, along with a BS in Biology, also from Seton Hall.
She is a member of board of trustees of the NJSSPA, and a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
Tara holds several professional licenses and certifications, including the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, and the DEA.
She has been a Team Leader for the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life, and has participated in the American Cancer Society’s Strides Against Breast Cancer events.
Tara has been with Union County Healthcare Associates since 2008. She works with patients at the Cranford Health Extended Care Facility, and sees patients in other settings.
